"Andy" played his last song, January 3, 2003, among family as he left this life. The former radio and TV personality died at the age of 78. Andy was born January 25, 1924, to John Andrew & Rhoda Lucille Anderson in Lead, South Dakota.
He grew up in Bell, California, where he graduated from Bell High School. In 1942, he joined the Navy where he served four years and was a Pharmacists Mate First Class. After being discharged with honors, he attended Compton College in Compton, CA, and then went on to the Don Martin School of Radio and Television. Soon after he met his soul mate Glenna M. Twiss. After a life of moving from city to city with his love of advertising, radio and television they settled in Sheridan in 1980. Here he became on of Sheridan's friendliest men as he worked around town sharing his wisdom, friendship and "b.s." with everyone. Andy loved his children, grandchildren and many friends. He enjoyed mother natures wonders, especially birds, painting, his Sunday morning "Big Band Show" on KROE radio, and the many hours he spent visiting with tourist at the visitors center. He has touched the lives of many that have never seen his face; they only knew his voice. He will live in our hearts forever.
