Wilbert Ellis (Fred). Fredrickson, 83, of Sheridan passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
Fred was born August 11, 1928 in Elk River, MN to Wilbur and Irma (Olson) Fredrickson. He received his education in Big Lake and Minneapolis. He married Lauraine Olson, April 24, 1948, she later passed away on September 28, 1990.
Fred worked as a contractor in Minneapolis and owned several businesses. He retired and in October of 1995 he moved to Sheridan to be near his daughters. He was soon back to work, employed by Sheridan Siding and the Methodist Church where he was custodian for seven years. He met Ella Cooper during this time and they were married September 21, 2002.
Fred enjoyed the mountains and spent many weekends 4-wheeling and camping. One of his high lights in life was snowmobiling in Yellowstone Park. He was a great photographer and the "camera" always went with him as he has many boxes of pictures to prove his hobby.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Lauraine, daughter Linda, parents and sister, Naomi May. He is survived by his wife, Ella, daughters; Nancy (Wayne)Chmielewski, Cindy (Dave) Johns all of Sheridan, son, Gary (Sandy) Fredrickson of Aitchen, MN, step-daughter, Lori Cooper of Coos Bay, OR, a sister in law, Sharyl (Terry) Shaw of Anoha, MN and five grandchildren; Dan, Justin and Steve Allen, Alex and Gina Fredrickson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Fred will be at 2:00 p.m on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Derryberry officiating. Inurnment will be at the Oakhill Cemetery in Richfield, MN at a later date.
Memorials to honor Fred may be made to the donor’s choice or to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter at 84 East Ridge Rd., Sheridan, WY 82801.
