Virginia Beth Haar
Virginia Beth Luckhurst Haar, age 62, of Parkman, Wyoming, passed away at her home on Friday, April 16, 2010.
Virginia was born on June 10, 1947, in Watertown, South Dakota, to Harlan Roy and Ailene Ruth Garey Luckhurst. She graduated from Garden City High School in 1965, and from S.D.S.U. with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. She taught Home Economics and Parenting at Sheridan High School and Nutrition at Sheridan College. She married Ralph Haar in Garden City, SD on September 10, 1972. She and her husband Ralph founded Sure Foundation Family Ministry, an outreach to the Crow Nation. They faithfully served the foundation for many years.
Virginia was a passionate advocate for the Gatekeepers Ministries in Crow Agency, MT. She also belonged to the Parkman Promoters. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Sheridan, and Spirit of Life Four Square Church in Crow Agency, MT.
Virginia was preceded in death by her father, her husband, and her brother-in-law Dale Haar. She is survived by her mother, of Clark, SD, children, Shannon (Debra) Haar, of Parkman, WY, Cody (Britni) Haar of Sheridan, WY, Shelly (Keith) Brown of Merrill, IA, Brett (Cathy Radel) Jorgensen of Sioux Falls, SD, and Nicki (Travis Ripperda) Dvorak of Sioux Falls, SD. Brothers: Alan (Beth) Luckhurst of Garden City, SD, Edwin (Brenda) Luckhurst of Garden City, SD, and sister: Marilyn (Eugene) Moeller of Arlington, SD and five grandchildren: Jessica (Nick) Trammell of Rainbow City, AL, Michaela, Andrew, and Adam Brown of Merrill, IA, and Zachary Ripperda of Sioux Falls, SD, and sisters-in-law June (Ken) Roth of Bridgewater, SD, and Nancy (Curt) Matzen, of Sioux Falls, SD.
A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00am, at the Cornerstone Church with Pastor Tony Forman and Pastor Ken Pretty On Top officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Cornerstone Church Common Grounds.
