Vernice M. Richmond, 90, of Sheridan passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Sheridan Manor.

Vernice was born September 29, 1922 in Polk County, Arkansas to John W. and Mary (Harrison) Corley. She was raised and received her schooling in Mountain Springs, Colorado.

Vernice married Lloyd Richmond on August 6, 1951 and then spent the rest of her life in Sheridan. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile, B.P.O.E. Does, life memberships in DAV Auxiliary, NEA, NEA-R, NEA and Sheridan County Ritired Teacher's and School Employees. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking and crossword puzzles.

Vernice was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials to honor Vernice may be made to the Travel Fund of the Kalif Temple,

Box K, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Services for Vernice will be held at 10:00 on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Welch officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
