Steven Joseph “Gramps” Tripp, 58, of Sheridan passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his residence.
Steven Joseph “Gramps” Tripp was born November 18, 1953 in Murray, UT, the son of Wallace and Georgia Riley Tripp. He grew up in the Salt Lake City area, and moved to Story, WY in 2001. Steve passed away peacefully at his home with his family, on November 3, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.
Steve loved his work, recently working with Sheridan Homes and Weeden Homes, among other local contractors. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and hiking in the mountains. His best times were spent with his family and friends. He was a good father, a good grandfather, and a good friend to everyone.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Leonard. He is survived by his mother, of St. George, UT; sons Brandon (Mary) of Story, and Shane of Salt Lake City; brothers Ken and Don, of Salt Lake City, and Bob and Larry of St. George; sisters Maxine (Mel) Chatwin, Margaret (Willie) McBride, Jean (Lynn) Covington, Sharon (Jim) Zupan, and Vicky (Jim) Lyman, all of Salt Lake City; grand children Michael, Krystle, Hayley, and Kiera, all of Story, Tasha Tremble, Alex Tremble, and Kevin Leonard of Sheridan; his good friend Suzanne Leonard of Sheridan and his scruffy dog Chase, his constant companion.
A memorial fund has been set up at: Steven Tripp Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Bank at 424 N. Main, Sheridan, WY 82801 C/O Amber Wood. Services are pending.
