Rose Marie Lutz, 90, of Sheridan, passed away on July 9,2009 at Sheridan Manor of complications from pancreatic cancer.
Rose was born May 15, 1919 in Sheridan to Pete and Michelena Deluzio Trocchio (Troche). She married her husband, Jim Lutz, of Ranchester on May 4, 1941, and together they created a life of hunting, fishing, and collecting arrowheads, antiques, and coins. Most of their weekends were spent in the Big Horn Mountains.
Rose and Jim were childless, but she was a generous aunt to all her nieces and nephews, ready with fried chicken and potato salad for weekend picnics at Kendrick Park. She would appear with huge baskets on Easter and neatly wrapped presents on Christmas. Rose unselfishly took care of her own mother, Michelena, for many years. Rose loved Sheridan and when relatives asked her to move closer to them, she refused. She received kindness and support from the staff at Sugarland Ridge Retirement Home and Sheridan Manor.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lutz; brothers, Harry and Joe; and her sister, Helen.
Private family graveside services have been held. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
