Roberta Harding Davis, 85 of Sheridan passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Davis was born Dec. 27th, 1926, in Stockwell, Nebraska to Florence and Edward McConville.
Roberta spent the majority of her childhood in Evergreen, Colorado with her sister, Gwen (Hicks). Graduating from Evergreen High School in 1944, she entered the Cadet Nurse Corp, receiving training at Mercy Hospital in Denver, CO. She went on to earn her BSN and her Masters in Science, from the University of Colorado. She was employed by the VA Medical Center for over 30 years until her retirement in 1985. She held several positions on Wyoming’s State Board of Nursing and taught classes at Sheridan Jr. College.
She enjoyed her family, playing cards, especially bridge, and was an avid reader.
She married H.M. “Tom” Harding in 1951. They were divorced in 1973. She married John Davis in 1992.
Survivors include her husband, John Davis of Sheridan, three sons, David of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Gregory of Palmdale, Calif., and Kevin (Lisa) of Sheridan; a daughter, Joan of Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandchildren from her first marriage. Her extended family included her step children, and a grandson, John (Kymberly) Brown and his family of Bighorn.
Roberta was known as a by-the-book nurse, a “good” bridge player and a friend.
According to her wishes there will be no services.
Memorials may be made YMCA or the charity of the donor’s choice.
