Robert L. Wilson, 65, of Sheridan, WY died Sunday, April 24, 2011, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
Bob was born April 27, 1945, in Minnieville, Missouri, to Ralph and Margaret (Adams) Wilson.
Bob lived with his great aunt, Roxie Porter, until finishing high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy (1963-1967) and served on ship twice off the coast of Viet Nam. Bob married Patricia Reinholt on January 19, 1968, in Bartlesville, OK. They lived in Missouri, Kansas and California before coming to the Sheridan in 1992. He worked as a bartender in numerous bars in Sheridan and Johnson Counties. He managed the VFW Post 1560 and also was a local and district officer. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles #186 & 4169 and the American Legion Post #7 in Sheridan. He was a member of Eagles #3030 in Buffalo, WY and also was a bartender there. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping and road trips.
Bob was a member of the 7th Cavalry Drum and Bugle Corps starting in 1996. He was a public relations officer for few years and asst. manager for the last three. He was very proud to carry the American flag in every parade he could and was learning to play the drums.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his great aunt.
Bob is survived by his wife Pat of Sheridan, sons Michael and William of Sheridan; daughters Michelle Wilson of Sheridan, Cindi Duarte of Rochester, WA and Christina Wilson of Sheridan; brothers Wesley Wilson of Gig Harbor, WA and Ray Wilson of Deepwater, MO; and fourteen grandchildren.
Viewing will be 11:00am until 3:30pm on Friday (Apr. 29th) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30am on Saturday with the Rev. Scott Lee officiating from Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. A reception will follow in the American Legion Post #7, Sheridan. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Bob, not only will he miss his family and friends but also his 7th Cavalry Drum & Bugle Corps family and their families.
