Robert Emmett Logan was born on March 24, 1925 in Beaudette, Minnesota to William and Mabel Logan. Bob was the oldest of six children and grew up working on the family farm and going to school in Ortonville, Minnesota. He graduated from Ortonville High School in 1943 and continued working on the farm. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Dawn Ell, on December 12, 1947 in Ortonville and they made their home on the family farm. In 1952 they moved to Casper, Wyoming with their son and two daughters. Bob began working as a paleontologist for Shell Oil Company in Casper, and was transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah shortly after his third daughter was born in 1953. After 12 years in Salt Lake, Bob was transferred to Farmington, New Mexico, where his second son was born. In 1966 Bob left Shell Oil and moved the family to Jackson, Wyoming, where he purchased an Enco dealership. He sold that business three years later and moved his family to their final home in Buffalo, Wyoming. Bob and Betty were hired by Reynolds Aluminum, where Bob managed all operations at the Lake DeSmet Lodge and Marina. When Texaco bought out Reynolds, Bob stayed on as part of the maintenance staff, where he worked until he retired in 1984. In his many happy years of retirement he stayed busy gardening, repairing furniture, and helping out at Ron’s Plumbing, which Bob always said was the best job he ever had. Bob was known for his quick wit, lively sense of humor, and mischievous grin.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Logan of Buffalo; three daughters LeeAnn Moser and her husband Dennis of Cedar City, Utah, Laurie Logan of Buffalo and Lynn O’Gan and her husband Tim also of Buffalo; one son Michael Logan and his wife Charity of Eureka, California; one sister Betty Miksche and her husband Jerry of Ripon, California; one brother Bill Logan of Story; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son John Logan, and three sisters Shirley Evers, Donna Stine, and Vera Tice.
