Richard Dean Neavill, 70, of Sheridan passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan.
Richard was born on December 22, 1941 to George and Mildred (Trimble) Neavill in Deadwood, South Dakota. He was raised in South Dakota. He was married to Delores Neavill for forty two years and they raised their three children. He served in the Navy from 1960 – 1964. He taught eighth grade at the Junior High School for twenty two years. He enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, traveling, coaching, model railroading and Notre Dame Football. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Richard was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Holy Name Catholic Church.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pauline Neavill. He is survived by his sons; Stephen (Dallas) Neavill of Rapid City, S.D., Jason (Maureen) Neavill of Sheridan, WY and his daughter Robyn Neavill of Sheridan, WY, his three grandchildren; Tifani Hinsz of Billings, MT, Monica and Cooper Neavill of Sheridan, WY. Also, his sisters; Helen Neavill of Winona, MN, and Georgia (Jerry) Lockwood of Hereford, AZ.
A visitation will be from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at Holy Name Catholic Church on Thursday morning, May 31, 2012, before the service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 31, 2012 with Father Jim Heiser officiating, at the Holy Name Catholic Church. A reception will follow immediately in the Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Custer Cemetery in Custer, South Dakota on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 1:00 pm.
