Funeral services for Ramah Jackson, 46 year old Kaycee resident who passed away early Wednesday morning in Kaycee, will be held Saturday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m. from the Harold Jarrard Park Building in Kaycee with Reverend Carole Buckingham officiating. A private family interment in the Kaycee Cemetery will follow the services. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Monday November 12th from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Donations in Ramah’s memory may be made to the St. Francis Animal Shelter in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.
Ramah Jo Jackson was born on December 3, 1965 in Gillette, Wyoming to Kent and Linda Elm. When she was an infant she moved with her family to Midwest, Wyoming and as a small child they moved to Casper. In 1967 the family moved to Kaycee, Wyoming where she grew up and attended schools, graduating from Kaycee High School with the class of 1984. After high school she worked in Casper where she met and married Richard Jackson in 1987. Richard was in the military and they lived in various parts of the U.S. and also in Germany. Following a divorce she moved to Casper and then to Douglas where Ramah worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at the Converse County Memorial Hospital. She worked at various jobs in and around Douglas until 2010 when she moved back to Kaycee where she was employed by the school district until the time of her death.
Ramah was an animal advocate and rescued many abandon pets. She enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, bowling and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Nathanael Chown of Oregon, Jake Jackson, currently serving in the U.S. Navy at Norfolk, Virginia and Marcus Jackson of Casper; one daughter Katy Jackson and her fiancé Matt Goldman currently serving in the U.S. Air Force at Edwards, California; one brother Shawn Elm, his wife Debbie and their son Cory of Casper; one sister Amy Elm and her son Noah Elm of Kaycee; her parents Kent and Linda Elm of Kaycee.
