Patricia A. Smith (Collins), 88 of Sheridan passed away on January 3, 2013 at Westview Health Care Center after complications from a fall.
Patricia was born in Parkman, WY to Joseph and Kathleen Collins on March 24, 1924. She obtained her education in Arvada, WY. Patricia started her career at the National Coil factory and then moved on to becoming a caregiver at Sheridan Memorial Hospital and later retired from the Wyoming State Girl’s School in 1986.

Patricia was involved in many organizations, such as the Sheridan Senior Center and an active member in her church, Holy Name Catholic Church. Patricia was known to many as “Auntie Pats”, “Auntie Charm”, “Pat”, “Patsy” and to her grand children as “Grams”. She has touched many hearts and left a lasting impact on all of our lives. Patricia enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, making candy, watching birds, playing cards and spending time with her many, many treasured friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother (Bud Collins) and her sister (Joann Sorell), her son (Bud Smith) and a grandson (Mathew Smith).

She is survived by her son, Alan Smith (Pat) of Washington, her son Jerry Smith of Florida, her son Fred Galloway of Kansas, her son Richard Smith (Marlene) of Sheridan, and daughter Penelope Riesen (Burr) of Sheridan, 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at Kane’s funeral home at 2:00 p.m. On Thursday, January 10, 2012 at Kane Funeral Home with Father Louis Shea. officiating with a reception to follow in the Holy Name Church parish hall. A Private Inurnment for family will be held at the Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, WY at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Sheridan Senior Center at 211 Smith St., Sheridan, WY 82801 or to the Audubon Society at Audubon Wyoming at 101 Garden Creek Road, Casper, WY 82604.
