Private family services for Margot Thom, 91 year old former Buffalo resident who passed away March 11, in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family, will be held in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, Wyoming with Reverend Tom Saur officiating. At Margots request, donations in her memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.
Margaret Esther Thom was born on March 8, 1921 in Buffalo, Wyoming to Captain John C. and Mate Thom. Margot traveled the world as a Navy Junior. She lived at the Naval Academy and attended The Holton Arms School. She graduated from the University of Michigan, in 1942 where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Margot married Alfred H. Piel in 1943. They divorced in 1967. She married David A. Walker in 1970. They divorced in 1994. She spent her adult life in Colorado and North Carolina.
Margot is survived by 4 children: Michael Thom (Carol) Piel, Margaret Christie (James) Nance, John Alfred (Charlotte) Piel, and Anne Nielson (Brian) Peters; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John C. Thom III, well known Buffalo resident.
