Funeral services and a celebration of the life of Lucy Cooper, 94 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Monday at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo will be held Saturday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m. from the Parshall Chapel in Parshall, Colorado with Reverend Allen Pulliam officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Angel, Oregon. Donations in Lucy’s memory may be made to the Buffalo Senior Center or the Johnson County Library in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.
Lucy Louisa Cooper was born on April 15th 1917 in Lyman, Wyoming to John and Jennie (Creagor ) Dickson. She grew up and went to school in Lyman and was married on April 17th, 1934 in Morgan, Utah to Virgil Eller. They lived in Colorado where they worked and raised 8 children until Mr. Eller retired. After retirement they moved to Mt. Angel, Oregon where they were divorced. Lucy later married Odie Cooper and after his retirement they traveled for a few years before settling in Overton, Nevada. Mr. Cooper passed away and in 2002 Lucy moved to Buffalo to be near her daughter due to health problems.
Lucy was very active in the Overton Senior Center until bad health forced her to moved to Buffalo. She enjoyed cards, hooking rugs, embroidering and crocheting.
She is survived by one son, Jerry D. Eller of Kremmling, Colorado; one daughter Kathryn L. DeWald of Buffalo, Wyoming; two step children and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 5 sons; Sid, Jack, Carl, Wade and Hugh Eller; one daughter Karen Keaton; four brothers and three sisters.
