Loren F. Gradin, 83, of Sheridan passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the V.A. Medical Center of Sheridan.
Loren was born on June 22, 1929 in Santa Ana, CA to Rosie M. (Burger) and Leonard L. Gradin. Although born in CA, he was a Wyoming boy through and through. He was honored to have been a member of the U.S Army and proudly served during the Korean War. He was a local businessman in Sheridan, first operating the old Sinclair gas station and later Broadway Liquor and The Pony. He loved boating, fishing, the mountains, and snowmobiling. He instilled a love of the outdoors in all of his children.
Loren was a member of the American Legion, the Moose, and the Elks. He loved the local YMCA and faithfully attended for more than thirty years. The Y was his home away from home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dr. Wesley Gradin. He is survived by his children Susan (Gordon) Hickle of Montrose, CO, Dr. Sherrie Gradin of Athens, OH, and Cindy Gradin of Saratoga, WY; by his special life companion and best friend, Wilma Hull; by his step daughters Joni, Julie, Jill and Janet; and by Jennifer Pilch Herbst, a longtime friend and supporter.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held later this summer.
