Linda Diane Simmons, 58, of Sheridan, passed away at her residence on Monday, January 16, 2012.
Linda was born on January 30, 1953 in Oakland, CA, to her parents Carl Edgar and Genevieve Williams Bartenhagen. She was raised in South Gate, CA and graduated from High School there in 1972. She moved to Sheridan in 1992 and has lived here until her death. She worked as a Facility Specialist Crew Leader at Sheridan College. She enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting, collected angels, frogs, wind chimes and light houses, and her Girl Friends Club where she taught a card making class. She also loved her church and her church family, but she especially loved and enjoyed her time with her granddaughter, Madalynn.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Shawn, Dan, Eric, and David all of Sheridan, her granddaughter Madalynn, and her ex husband and lifelong friend, Dennis Stout.
Services for Linda will be at 10:00 am on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor John Craft officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, and a reception will follow at the First Baptist Church.
