LaVerne E. Weberg, 91, of Ranchester, WY, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Sheridan Manor.
Mrs. Weberg was born November 10, 1918 on a Montana farm between Homestead and Froid, Montana. She grew up on the homestead, moving to Froid in 1931 where she attended Junior High School and graduated from Froid High School in 1936.
LaVerne married Clarence A. Weberg in Froid, Montana on May 10, 1937.
Mrs. Weberg was a store clerk, waitress, custodian, and a pastor’s wife. She clerked in a grocery store in Froid. In Sheridan, she worked at Schreibeis Bakery, the Post Office Snack Bar, the Holly Sugar Experimental Lab, Central Junior High School, and Linden Elementary School.
She was very active in her church, teaching Sunday school, working with Pioneer Girls, the Women’s Circle Groups, sang in the choir, and was a pastor’s wife. She attended the Christian Women’s Club and served on their board. Mrs. Weberg also volunteered at the Sheridan Senior Center.
LaVerne enjoyed sewing, embroidery, baking, and doing volunteer work. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Weberg was preceded in death by her husband; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas Weberg, of Elizabethton, TN, and Sherman Weberg, of Ranchester, WY; two daughters, Louise Kishpaugh, of Sparks, NV, and Sylvia Phillips, of Sheridan, WY; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
A Memorial service for Mrs. Weberg will be held at 3:00 P. M. Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Big Horn Church with Pastor Sherman Weberg officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
