LaDonna J. Day, 78, of Sheridan, WY died Friday, September 25, 2009, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
LaDonna was born October 1, 1930, in Beulah, N. Dakota to Arnold & Edna (Enyart) Anderson.
LaDonna grew up and attended schools in Beulah and Sheridan. She worked at several jobs including Woolworth until she married John Day on June 30, 1949, in Billings, MT. They owned and operated the Park Street Grocery. They sold the grocery and she went to work at Angionette’s. She worked there until she retired in 1992. John and LaDonna celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July, 2009. LaDonna volunteered at the nursing homes and was a member of the Monarch sewing club. She enjoyed playing the piano, cooking and yearly family gatherings in N. Dakota. She loved writing letters to her family and friends.
LaDonna is survived by her husband John; son John of Sheridan; daughters Lois Waldron of East Hampton, MA and Laurie Serna of Euless, TX; brothers Allan Anderson of Bismarck, ND; sisters Merlin Sailer of Stanton, ND and Sandra Wood of Spokane, WA; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 2:00pm on Monday (Sept. 28th) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Goodwin officiating. Inurnment of cremains will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
