Kathy Eileen Mrozinski Embrey, 62, of Sheridan passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Sheridan Manor.
Kathy was born in LaPorte, Laporte County, IN on October 16, 1950 to parents Ronald H. and Nezera (Sayles) Mrozinski. After graduating from Rolling Prairie High School, Kathy attended college and was a dental hygienist for a number of years. She moved to Farmerville, TX where she worked on an armored car service and raised and trained horses. Kathy also drove a truck for U.S. Xpress until 2001 when she moved to NC and worked for Walmart and was a volunteer firefighter/EMT. In 2004, Kathy moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and married retired Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sergeant Richard Embrey in Conway, SC on October 16, 2004. The couple resided there until December 22, 2007 when they moved to Sheridan, WY.
Kathy loved to bake, dance, photogragh the wildlife, rescue animals, care for those who were injured or sick and play the piano.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Ronald and her son, John Hudgins. She is survived by her husband Richard, son, Edward (Linda) McAlpin in Doha, Qatar, her sister Judy Marsden of Harrionburg, VA and a brother from TX.
Kathy will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 215 W. Works St. at 2:00 on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 with Pastor Don Derryberry officiating. Kathy's ashes will be spread on the site of her birthplace in LaPorte, IN.
Memorials to honor Kathy may be made to the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation for the Welch Cancer Center at PO Box 391, Sheridan, WY 82801.
