Josephine May (Jo) Armstrong, 88, of Cheyenne died July 9th at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. She was born April 6, 1924, in Laramie to George Frank Struble and Madge Irene (Summers) Struble, and had lived in Cheyenne since 1994, with prior residence in Sheridan and Laramie. Jo graduated from Laramie High School in 1941. She married Warren Junior Armstrong on October 21, 1945, in Laramie. She was first and foremost a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was an active 4H leader for several years in Sheridan, where she also taught Sunday School at the Methodist Church. After her nest emptied, she worked at the Sheridan Senior Center. She enjoyed fishing, teddy bears and crossword puzzles. But her love for those activities was secondary to her love for family. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years (who died July 5, 2010), and by her parents and all three of her siblings. She is survived by her children, Wesley (Sherri) Armstrong of North Carolina, Warren John Armstrong of Sheridan, Thomas (Cindy) Armstrong of Cheyenne and Sylvia (Rick) Moore of Montana; her grandchildren, Vicki Poole, Teri Maples, Bobby Armstrong, Josh Armstrong, Gabe Armstrong, Betsey Romulus, Nicole Armstrong-Gurulé, Jeremy Armstrong, Kara Smith, Jennifer Ingersoll, Briana Dunn and Jessie Moore; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. In honor of Jo's request, there will be no services. Remembrances in Jo’s name may be made to Life Care Center of Cheyenne, Pointe Frontier Retirement in Cheyenne, or Sheridan Senior Center.
