Joseph Peterson, 69, of Chugwater, WY, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at the Sheridan Manor.

Joe was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio, on April 9, 1943, to Wilbur Ross and Irish Marie (Loader) Peterson. He entered the Army in May of 1961, and was honorably discharged in May of 1967. He enjoyed fishing, fixing things, auctions, watching old westerns like “John Wayne” movies, loved the outdoors and being socialable while swapping stories at the Soda Fountain in Chugwater, and swapping stories at the Soda Fountain in Chugwater. He was proud to be an Army veteran.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and ex-wife, Diana French from Lake Stevens, WA, Edgar “Uncle Smokey” Loader, nephews; John Miller and Douglas Brooke. He is survived by his children; Jason Peterson of Chugwater, WY, Ashley Peterson of Ranchester, WY, Michelle Towns of Everett, WA, Renda Hunter of TX, and April Hatzenbiler of Ranchester. His siblings,; Michael Peterson of MT, Tidy Miller of MN, Phyllis Nicodemus of WY, Ralph Peterson of NE, John Peterson of WY, Marion Peterson of WY and Wilbur Peterson of MO.

Services for Joe will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 21, 2012, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Gooding officiating with full Military Honors. A
Reception will follow service at the Dayton Community Church.

An Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Chugwater Cemetery, in Chugwater, WY.
