Joseph Anthony Bono, 90, formerly of Buffalo, Wyoming, died peacefully at his home near Strasburg, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. A graveside service will be held at Willow Grove Cemetery at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Following the service, a reception will be held at the VFW in Buffalo, Wyoming.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Anthony and Theresa (Russo) Bono.

He played minor league baseball and was a huge fan of the sport. Joe and Addie lived for more than 20 years in Buffalo. Following his wife’s passing in 2007, Joe moved to Pennsylvania to be near his sister Anna and his niece Nancy. Joe served his country honorably as a veteran of WWII on the European Front and later as Commander of Fort McKinney VFW Post #2469. He was employed for many years as a Distribution Coordinator with RR Donnelly & Sons.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Justine Barbara Wilson (husband, Mark) of Rozet, Wyoming; a stepson, Stephen of Brooklyn, NY; and a step-grandaughter, Ariel Williams of Aruba; a sister, Anna Marcogliese of Lancaster, PA; a niece Ellen Mateer of NJ; a niece Nancy Austin Boepple (husband, Steven) of Strasburg, PA.He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline “Addie” (Maynard) Bono and a stepson, Richard.
