Private family interment for Jolene Smith, 80 year old Buffalo woman who passed away Sunday afternoon at the Johnson County Healthcare Center in Buffalo, Wyoming, will be held by her family at a later date.
Donations may be made in Jolene’s name to the Buffalo Senior Center in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams, Buffalo, WY 82834.
Jolene Gay Smith was born on January 26, 1931 in Sidney, Montana to Truman and Ella Dawe. She grew up and attended school in Sidney before moving to Cody, Wyoming where she graduated from Cody High School.
After high school she started work as a telephone operator. On October 15, 1955 she was married to Royal Smith in Worland, Wyoming. The couple moved to Thermopolis, Wyoming where Jolene opened up a dress shop and Royal worked for Amoco Oil Company.
In 1997 Royal and Jolene moved to Buffalo, Wyoming where they continued to live until the time of her death.
Jolene was a wonderful mother and wife and will be greatly missed by her family. She enjoyed playing bridge, going to the mountains, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Royal of Buffalo, Wyoming; three sons: Royal Thomas Smith of Santiago, Chile, Ty Jeffery Smith and his wife Leslie of Denver, Colorado, Scott Shawn Smith and his wife Dawn of Casper, Wyoming; one brother, Tim Dawe of Cody, Wyoming; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
