Funeral services for Joan Sutton, 72 year old long time Kaycee resident who passed away Sunday at the Amie Holt Care Center, in Buffalo, will be held Wednesday October 20th at 2:00 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Buffalo with Brother Joe Chappell officiating. Burial will be in the New Haven Cemetery in New Haven, Wyoming with graveside services to be held on Thursday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday from 1:00 pm. Until 9:00 p.m. Donations maybe made in Mrs. Sutton’s memory to the New Haven Cemetery in Care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.

Ellen Joan Sutton was born on August 1, 1938 in New, Haven, Wyoming to Mel and Jessie Denniston. She grew up in New Haven where she attended country schools and graduated from Moorcroft High School in 1957. She was married on October 7, 1956 in Douglas, Wyoming to Oliver Sutton and they made their home in Moorcroft. They moved to Kaycee, Wyoming in 1964 where she was a house wife and mom. She continued to live in Kaycee until the time of her death.

She was a very active and devoted member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved to garden, make quilts, growing flowers and taking care of children.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Oliver of Kaycee; three daughters, Glenda Bear and her husband Tim of Sweet Home Oregon, Sandra Tolman and her husband Jeff of Casper and Karen Bear of Mesa, Washington; two sisters Ruby Johnson of Iowa and Alice Cochran of Sturgis, South Dakota; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters and one grand daughter.
