Jean Weltner, 90, of Sheridan passed away at West View Health Care Center on Monday, March 15, 2010.
Jean was born on May 22, 1919 to Fred and Emma (Timm) Weltner in Decker, MT and graduated from Sheridan High School. During World War II he went to work on airplane engines in Utah, later returned to Sheridan where he met Annabelle Connolly and got married on April 18, 1948 in Sheridan. Jean worked as an appliance, television and radio repairman for Montgomery Ward for many years. He later went to work for Sheridan Ranch Supply as a mechanic on farm equipment. Jean enjoyed taking family to the mountains for camping, fishing and hunting.
Jean was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother and his wife. Survivors include his sister Francis Carson of Sheridan, WY; daughters Barbara Standish of Billings, MT and Mary Johnston of Dayton, WY; son John Weltner of Albany, Georgia, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
