Bill Velos

Bill Velos, 95, of Sheridan, WY, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in Westview Health Care Center.

Mr. Velos was born May 23, 1914 in Wallowa, OR to Henry and Rissie (Clemens) Liles. He grew up and attended school in Portola, CA before doing logging for his grandfather. Bill then worked for the railroad, and supplied ice for an icehouse for a fish company in northern California.

Hazel Ann Rotolo, 61, of Ranchester, WY died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, in her Ranchester home.

Hazel was born August 21, 1947, on the family farm near Parshall, ND to Harold & Ora (Howie) Maurer.

Nora E. Maxted, 96, of Sheridan, WY died Monday, August 3, 2009, in her Sheridan home.

Nora was born June 8, 1913, in Sheridan to Emanuel & Elizabeth (Graff) Achenbach.


Braydon J. Stanley

Braydon J. Stanley, 12 weeks old, died Sunday, August 2, 2009, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Braydon was born May 11, 2009, in Sheridan to John Stanley and Lindsay Pinson.

Braydon was loved by his family. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Braydon is survived by his father & mother; brother Jace Horn; grandparents in Georgia and great grandparents Roberta & Chuck Harmon.


George (Scotty) Schuman

George (Scotty) Schuman, 96, of Sheridan, passed away on August 2, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at Kane Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.


Rebecca F. Notti

Rebecca F. Notti, 18, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at her family’s ranch near Otter, Montana. A viewing will be held on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Kane Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2009 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Sheridan, with the Reverend Kevin Jones officiating.


Flora Jean Rice Dowson

Flora Jean Rice Dowson, 86, of Sheridan, passed away on July 29, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Visitation will be at Kane Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, 2009, from 5:30 to 7:30pm and Funeral Services will be held at the First Methodist Church on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Don Derryberry officiating.

Elaine Loretta Wondra was born at home in Monarch to Michael and Anne Kawulok, on July 31st, 1928.

Edith Collins, 88, of Arvada, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette.

Edith was born January 26, 1921 in Sheridan, WY to Frank and Clara Clabaugh. She wed Marion Collins in Hardin, MT and was a dedicated homemaker. For many years she sold Avon in the Arvada area, was a member of the Arvada Women’s Club, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Beverly Ann Fuqua

Beverly Ann Fuqua, 65, formerly of Sheridan, WY, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Denver, CO.

Beverly was born February 6, 1944 in Sheridan, WY to Gale and Freda (Whitford) Douglas. She grew up and attended Woodland Park grade school and graduated from Sheridan High School.


Roger Stevens Bent

Roger Stevens Bent, 81, of Sheridan, WY died Friday, July 24, 2009, in Billings Clinic, Billings, MT.

Roger was born March 20, 1928, in Sheridan to Roger & Berenice (Stevens) Bent.


Iris L. Ferren

Iris L. Ferren, 87, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at Sheridan Manor. She was born November 24, 1921, to Ralph C. and Velma M. Ferren in Sheridan, WY, where she attended school and was baptized into the First Christian Church. She expressed her love of music through the piano, organ, and clarinet.


William E. “Bud” Gleason

William E. “Bud” Gleason, 61, of Banner, WY, died Friday, July 17, 2009 in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Gleason was born August 12, 1947 in Sheridan, WY to William and Hattie (Bixby) Gleason. Bill grew up in Sheridan and Gillette and attended schools in both cities.

He was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving his country in Vietnam from 1967 to 1972.
