Verna Sethman, 74, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at her residence. She was born on June 4, 1941, the daughter of Nis and Signe (Miller) Laursen in Cherokee, Iowa.

Minerva Sanderson, passed away May 15, 2016, she was born on July 10, 1918, in San Antonio, TX, to Angela (Cisneros) and Manuel G. Silvee. She grew up in Galveston, TX; was baptized at Central Christian Church at the age of 12 years. She graduated from Ball High School and enrolled in Droughn Business College where she took secretarial and accounting courses.

Ashley Torres, 29, of Gillette, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at her residence.

A Celebration of Life will be held 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016, at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles on Commercial Lane in Sheridan.

Michael W. McGinty, 65, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, following a long courageous battle with cancer.

Mike was born June 25, 1950, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin to William and Helen McGinty.

He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in forestry and soil management.

Tony John Pelesky was born October 15, 1933 at the Old Sheridan Memorial Hospital, to Tony Joseph Pelesky and Mary Legerski Pelesky. Tony passed away May 1, 2016. He attended school in Sheridan and Ranchester and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1952.

Roberts Royce (Bob) Oakes passed away peacefully on May 13, 2016 in Grand Junction, CO. He was born to Bill and Prudence Oakes in Del Norte CO on August 27, 1934. He married Susan Wildermuth on June 6, 1953. Bob and Sue, wife, lifelong companion and businesses partner founded and operated a number of Sheridan WY businesses including Captain Clean.

Maryanna Ballard Bowden, 94, of Sheridan, Wyoming, was taken into the arms of her savior on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, with her daughter Phyllis Bowden, her sister
Beverly Ballard, and her niece Candace Crist by her side.
She passed peacefully at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Ira Dakota Knudtson, 22, died on Thursday, April 21st, 2016, in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be at 11 am, May 21, 2016, at Grace Baptist Church, 1959 E. Brundage Lane, Sheridan, WY 82801. A luncheon will follow at the church. Covered dishes are welcome.

Herman Evans, 78, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 29, 1938, in Wasioto, Bell County, KY, to Dit and Harriet (McNew) Evans. He moved to Colorado Springs, CO, in his early 20's and worked for the union as a heavy equipment operator for 37 years.

Services for Joel Craig Smith, 63 year old Buffalo resident who passed away at his home, will be held Tuesday, May 17th at the Triple Three Ranch located at 333 French Creek Road, Buffalo, WY. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. at the ranch and a ceremony will follow at 5:00 P.M.

Funeral services for Sue Morse, 61 year old Kaycee resident who passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2016, at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital, will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., from Harold Jarrard Park with Reverend Danny Davis officiating. Interment will be in Kaycee Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral. Visitation will be held on Monday the 16th from 1:00 p.m.

Elaine (Blakeman) Cole passed away on May 10, 2016 in Sheridan, WY.

Eugene “Chink” White, 90, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at the Sheridan Manor. He was born on July 12, 1925, in Big Horn, WY to parents Tom and Clara (Hepp) White. After serving in the Army from 1945 – 1947, he married Pokey Janich on March 6, 1953.

Robert James Axlund passed away peacefully on May 10, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Billings, MT in 1950. He graduated from Natrona County High School. He went on to Rocky Mountain College where he received a bachelor’s in Business. He returned to Wyoming and joined the Air National Guard in Cheyenne.
