Mary Elizabeth Rhodes was born in Casper, Wyoming on September 11, 1923 to Elizabeth Harte Doherty and James J. Doherty, Irish immigrants, and passed away on July 6, 2015. She graduated from Natrona County High School then attended the University of Wyoming, Washington University in St. Louis and Sheridan College. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was the eldest of five siblings.

On the day after he celebrated the independence of this country; a country that he fought so valiantly for during two wars, Leslie “Les” Calvin Hofto, 88, of Sheridan was called away to his next assignment in Heaven. It seems so fitting that this patriotic naval officer would get to live through one more Independence Day.

A memorial service for Jeannette (Lily) Daniels will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26th at Dayton Community Church, 210 Bridge Street, Dayton, Wyoming. Friends and Family are invited.

Mass of Christian burial for Doris Anderson, 83 year old long time Midwest and former Buffalo resident who passed away Tuesday in Chandler, Arizona, will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. from The Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo with Father Pete Johnson as Celebrant. A vigil service will be held and the Rosary recited on Monday at 6:00 p.m. also from the Church.

Mass of Christian Burial for Michael Lanker, 69 year old Buffalo resident who passed away suddenly at his home south of Buffalo Wednesday afternoon, will be celebrated Thursday, July 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo with Father Pete Johnson as celebrant. A Vigil service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. also from the Catholic Church.

Funeral Services for Lynn Gilbert, 60 year old Buffalo resident who passed away quietly at the Johnson County Health Care Center on Wednesday evening, will be held Thursday, July 9th at 2:00 p.m. from the Big Horn Baptist Church in Buffalo with Pastors Clay Alexander and Eric Ebbinghaus officiating. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside service to follow the funeral.

Myrtle E. Elkins Kent, 95, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at her residence.

Jennifer Sue Pilch Herbst, 56, of Sheridan, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 19, 2015, at St. Vincents Hospital in Billings, MT, from an unexpected brain aneurysm.

Samuel S. Street

Samuel S. Street has passed away. He is survived by his wife Connie and daughters Karen of Australia and Vicki of New York City. Mr. Street, a well known artist in Sheridan, Wyoming will be remembered as " The Painter of Main Street" for his colorful paintings of downtown Sheridan.

Sharon K. (Shiell) Fiveash, 56, of LaFollette, TN-formerly of Sheridan, WY died Wednesday, May 6, 2015. She was born on October 31, 1958 in Frankfort, Germany. She enjoyed reading, hiking, canning, riding horses, being outdoors gardening and especially spending time with her family.

Samantha Louise Barnes, 19, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 near Sheridan.

Samantha was born in Sheridan, WY, on July 10, 1995, to Tammy Barnes and Tommy Wartensleben. She was raised primarily in the Tongue River Valley and attended schools there, graduating from Tongue River High School in 2014.

Opal I. Mills Roop, 85, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015, at her residence. She was born on April 18, 1930, in Seneca, NE, to parents Melvin B. and Opal Marie (Allen) Galyen.

Funeral services for Jody White, who went home to the Lord on June 18th 2015, will be held June 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds in Lusk Wyoming, with visitation at the Pier Funeral Home in Lusk on Sunday, June 21st from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Celebration of Life services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 27th at Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan with Deacon Joe Kristufek officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
