Funeral services for Ilene Satterfield, 96 year old former Buffalo resident who passed away Monday at the Life Care Center in Casper, Wyoming, will be held Friday, March 1st at 10:00 a.m. from the Grace Fellowship Church with Reverend Tom Saur officiating. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral. Donations in Mrs. Satterfield’s memory may be made to the Grace Fellowship Church in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.
Harriet Ilene Satterfield was born on January 13, 1917 in Custer, South Dakota to George and Ruby Schneider. She grew up on a ranch nine miles east of Upton, Wyoming and graduated from Upton High School in 1934. She was married on July 21, 1934 in Custer, South Dakota to Willard Satterfield and they made their home in Upton where Mr. Satterfield worked in the Bentonite Plant. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1942 where Mr. Satterfield worked in the Quarter Master Depot during WWII. They moved back to Casper in 1947 where Ilene worked for the Casper and Albertson’s Commissary from 1956 to 1965. Willard and Ilene bought the Triangle C Motel in 1965, which they owned and operated until 1974. In 1977 they moved to Buffalo where they continued to be active. Mr. Satterfield passed away in January of 2004 and shortly after his death Ilene moved to Casper where she lived until the time of her death. She had been a resident of the Life Care Center for the past 5 years. Ilene loved her church and was an extremely active past member of the Grace Fellowship Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Arlie Satterfield and his wife Linda of Casper; two additional daughters-in-laws, Rosie Satterfield of Casper and Jane Satterfield of Sheridan; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sons, Marvin, Vance and Darrell Satterfield; one granddaughter Stacey Satterfield; one brother Wayne and two sisters Ruby and Georgie.
