Helen Belus

Helen F. Belus, 97, died at Westview Health Care Center, on September 13, 2012. Helen was born March 4, 1915, at Dutch Creek. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Yurosek) Kobielusz. On June 6, 1933, she married Joseph Belus at the Wyarno St. Lowis Church at Dutch Creek. Joe and Helen were married 64 years and lived in Sheridan all their lives.

Helen did housework, worked for WPA Canning Factory, was a floor supervisor at Sheridan Iron Works during World War II, worked at Montgomery Wards and retired after 35 years at the VA as a supervisor in dietetics. Helen enjoyed ranching, bowling, dancing and traveling. She belonged to the V.F.W. And Holy Name Church.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Mary Daloner, Agnes Forman, Susie Lacek and Anna Kawlok; her brothers, Joseph Kobielusz, Paul Kobielusz, and George Kobielusz; daughter, Florence Smith; son, James Belus; and a great granddaughter, Jessica Belus. She is survived by son, Robert Belus; brother, John T. Kobielusz; sister, Rosie Belus, and 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be at 6:00 pm and a Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 18, 2012, with Father Ron Stolcis officiating at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Holy Name Church with Father Ron Stolcis officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
