Hazel "Deanie" Johnson, 69, of Sheridan passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Sheridan Manor after a twelve year struggle with lung disease.

Deanie was born on August 22, 1942 in Glasgow, MT to Boyd and Beatrice Hedalen. She graduated from Glasgow High School. She married Frank Johnson, an electrician there. For a time they traveled around following construction, finally settling in Rock Springs, WY where they lived for thirty years and raised two children, Dale and Connie. The couple later retired in Sheridan, WY in 2004.

Deanie loved and cared for all the children around her. At the parties, picnics, and other gatherings she would be adamant that they were attended to first, then the adults could enjoy their activities. She also loved her flower gardens and plants. Until the last few years she took her portable oxygen with her and sat among them tending and caring for them.

Deanie was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers; Bernard and Mervin Hedalen of Glasgow, MT. She is survived by her husband, Frank, of fifty years, one sister, Myrna (Bob) Starbird of Las Vegas, NV, her children; Dale of Portland, OR, Connie of Rock Springs, WY and two grandchildren.

A Graveside Service for Deanie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, WY with Reverend Don Derryberry officiating.
