Funeral services for Jerry Atter, 85 year old long time Buffalo resident who passed away quietly at her home in Buffalo on Thursday afternoon, will be held Monday, June 3rd at 2:00 p.m. from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Bob Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will be in Willow Grove Cemetery Immediately following the funeral. Donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to the Buffalo Senior Center in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. A reception and time of fellowship will be held at the Atter home on Klondike Drive following the graveside.
Geraldine Laurel Atter was born on March 12, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lawrence and Agnes Kirkland. She grew up and went to school in Minneapolis and graduated from South High School with the class of 1945. After high school she went to work for General Mills and on June 7, 1947 she was married to Warren Atter in Minneapolis where they made their home. The couple moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in 1948 where they lived until 1957 when they moved to Buffalo and bought the Buffalo Furniture Mart. Following that, Jerry and Warren owned and operated Atter’s Furniture until the present time.
Jerry was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; she was an avid Bridge player and loved her Bridge groups. Jerry loved spending time with her family, especially her grand kids.
She is survived by her husband Warren of Buffalo; two sons, Kirk Atter and Cole Atter and his wife Vicki all of Buffalo; one daughter Darcy Dennis of Sheridan; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
