Funeral services for Gayle Donahue, 73 year old Buffalo woman who passed away Monday morning quietly at her home, surrounded by her family, will be held Saturday, October 23rd at 10:00 a.m. from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Saur officiating. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral. Donations in Gayle’s memory may be made to the Gayle Donahue Memorial to help defray expenses in care the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.
Gayle Anne Donahue was born July 30, 1937 in Wisner, Nebraska to Allendale and Dorothy Kelso. She grew up and went to school in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from North High School in Omaha. She was married to David Donahue and they made their home in Omaha. Mr. Donahue passed away in 1976 and in 1978 Gayle moved to Buffalo, Wyoming. In 1981 Gayle took a position with the Johnson County Public Health Office and in 1988 she was hired as assistant to the Johnson County Commissioners. Gayle worked for the commissioners until she retired in 2001. After retirement she continued living in Buffalo until the time of her death.
Gayle was an avid bowler, loved to paint and was an accomplished seamstress. Always with a smile Gayle loved to laugh and spend time with her family and friends. Her warm welcome and upbeat attitude will always be missed.
She is survived by her lifetime companion Roger Bjverketvedt of Buffalo; five children, Roger A. Stiles of Omaha, Sheree Hathaway of Buffalo, Jaymee Fischer of Omaha, Russell Stiles of Buffalo and David “Mick” Donahue Jr. of Buffalo; eight grandchildren, Josh and Maggee Hathaway of Riverside, California, Catee and T.J. Fischer of Omaha, Chrissy Michael and Hope Anne Donahue of Buffalo, Brandon Stiles of Fullerton, California and Raeanne Riesland of Hooperston, Illinois; also family members Roxie Jumer, Russ Lovett and Melody Donahue.
