Everett "Poody" Hager

Everett "Poody" Hager, 87, of Sheridan passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Sheridan Manor. Poody was born to Fay (Shibley) and Oscar Hager in Wibaux, MT, on October 25, 1924. As a young child the family moved to Wyola, MT, where he grew up and attended schools in Wyola and Lodge Grass. After his graduation from lhigh school he entered the Navy and served in Hawaii during WWII. When he was discharged, he returned to Wyola to work on the family ranch. In 1947, he married Carla Roppe. They were married for 42 years, but, later divorced. In the mid-seventies, they moved to Dayton, WY, where they owned and operated Hager Trucking for sixteen years. Later on, he continued to drive truck for other trucking companies. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching car races, football, and other sporting events on TV.

Poody is survived by two daughters; Marsha (Gary) McCoy of Big Horn, WY, and Lynnette (Bill) Baker of San Diego, CA, four grandchildren, Jordan (Nick) Schlekeway of Meridian, ID, Morgan McCoy of Indianapolis, IN, Aaron Pease of Seattle, WA, Noelle (Ross) Plagens of CO, and three great–grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth Bzoski of Tempe, AZ, and a brother, Oscar "Tink" Hager of Sheridan, WY, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Phyllis Lind and a brother, Harold Hager.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Dayton Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Branding Iron in Dayton following the service.
