 Eva Elizabeth Legerski

Our beautiful Mother and Grandmother Eva Elizabeth Legerski met the Lord at Heaven’s gate on August 3, 2012.

Eva was born December 21, 1932 in Kooi, Wyoming to Michael J Haratyk and Eva Francis Malyurek Haratyk. She was raised in the Kooi area, attended Kooi schools and loved the beautiful, natural gifts their farm offered. She frequently spoke of the garden fresh produce grown on the farm, their cattle, and the milk and cream they produced. Eva often wondered why the world was so complicated when the basics of life were so readily available.

She married Thomas Michael Legerski April 26, 1956 at the St Thomas Catholic church in Monarch. The polish wedding reception she described as "dancing her legs off until the next morning".

Eva and Tom later moved to Sheridan where they opened Legerski Realty. Eva worked in the home office for many years while raising their 3 children. In 1967-1968 she was voted Office Girl of the year by Sheridan businessmen. She later worked at the Sheridan Center, eventually starting her own private housekeeping cliental.

Eva thoroughly enjoyed attending weekly Mass at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Also, Eva’s greatest joys were spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren participate in local sports, traveling throughout the Western and Southern states, listening to Polish music and cooking. One of Mom’s specialty dinners was Christmas Eve vigil of halibut and all of the Polish trimmings. She made the most difficult dinners look easy to prepare. Eva also enjoyed baking and one of her favorite Polish desserts, which was a pastry filled with fruit filling, called Paczek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, brothers Mike, Joe, Edward Haratyk, Sisters Agnes Lewis, Anne Oelschlager, and Mary A Legerski.

Survivors include sons Tom J Legerski and wife Mary K, Roger Legerski and wife Holly of Sheridan, and daughter Christine Mills and husband Rich of Billings MT. Grandchildren Tyler and wife Tayla, Erin, and Presley of Sheridan and Hannah Mills of Carrollton TX. Great grandchildren Shae Lynn, and newly born Luke, who Eva had the great pleasure of naming.

Eva had a great love for life, family, friends and memories.

We will deeply miss you Mom and Grandma / Matka; however we have great comfort knowing you are at peace with all the Angels and Saints in Heaven.
