Edgar Erwin Nelsen, 88, of Sheridan passed away at The VA Medical Center on March 1,
Edgar was born on February 23, 1922 in Sidney, Nebraska to Edgar and Alice Nelsen. Edgar was an accomplished wood craftsman and pistol shot. He enjoyed western history. Edgar, along with his sons David and Jerry, built two homes and a garage. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, excelled in ranking to First Class Petty Officer as a Boatswaim Mate and ranked both arms as a machine gun Captain. Edgar was a motorcycle rider and enthusiast. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 483 in San Francisco, the National Rifle Association and on the San Francisco Police Reserve.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Alice Nelsen; infant daughter Deanna; a brother and a sister and eight half-siblings. He is survived by sons Jerry Nelsen of Ranchester, Wyoming and Dave Nelsen of Sheridan, Wyoming; daughter Theresa Meinhardt of Great Falls, Montana and sister Lou Ella Ross of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
