Connie J. Schmidt, 48, of Sheridan passed away at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan on Friday, February 8, 2013.
Connie J. Schmidt born August 4, 1964 in Wheatland, Wyoming to Albert and Gloria Draper. She grew up in Billings, MT, Casper, WY, and the Sheridan area. In 1982 Connie graduated from Tongue River High School, later she put herself through college at MSU in Billings, working as a waitress and other occupations. Connie taught as a 6th grade teacher at Bench Elementary and Sagewood Elementary in Billings MT. Connie met the love of her life in 1994 .Connie and Steve Schmidt were married on September 30, 1995. Connie loved being a Schmidt; it meant fast cars and drag racing all summer. Connie and Steve made their home in Billings where they began their family with the arrival of Connor, the newest racer for the team. Soon God sent another little racer and Broncos fan to the budding family Braden. Now God had them all together to begin their beautiful family journey together. In 2008 the family relocated to Sheridan where Steve started a new career and Connie began teaching at Coffeen Elementary school. The boys began their school career, and the living and loving of a family took place each and every day. Teaching was a passion to Connie and she was a natural. She taught for 24years, was a member of NEA and a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband Steve, her two boys, Connor and Braden. Her parents Albert and Gloria Draper, her sister Monica and Brother Michael, nieces Amanda and Brandie and many loving cousins. Jim and Susan Schmidt of Sheridan and the entire Schmidt Family.
A Rosary will be held for Connie at 5:00 p.m. and visitation at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Kane Funeral Home with Father Jim Heiser officiating.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Jim Heiser Officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery followed by a reception at the Holy Name Parish Hall.
