Cole William Jackson, age 58, of Kemmerer, WY., passed away on June 18, 2012 on BLM land south of the Lewis Ranch near Fossil, Wyoming. His family and loved
ones know he is peacefully at home with God.
Cole was born on August 12, 1953 in Montpelier, Idaho, the son of Doris (Taylor) and Victor Jackson.
After a year in college, he married Eileen Gail Failoni at the age of 19. Throughout his thirty nine year marriage to Eileen, he raised four children. Among the many strengths
of character Cole passed to his children, some of the most memorable moments to his children regard the way he taught horsemanship.
Cole worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Kemmerer Coal Mine for 39 1/2 years. He earned a reputation of dependability, proficiency and leadership in the mines, and more than once he was the one called to help endangered coworkers or recover equipment. His dedication to his job was about more than a paycheck. His personal pride was tied up in his quality of work and providing for his family.
Cole's hobbies somehow always related back to his cowboy ethos. Some of his greatest interests included wild west historic books and movies, panning for gold, leatherwork, and shaving with a straight blade. He would examine the rocks on the ground and stars in the sky with a reverent appreciation and awe.
Cole is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Jackson, of Kemmerer, WY.; children, Matt C. (Lisa) Jackson, of Kemmerer, WY.; Truman (Angie) Jackson, of Kemmerer, WY.; Dillon C. (Shelley) Jackson, of Bremerton, WA.; Tracee L.
