Christina Anne Murphy
November 7, 1962 — Nov. 30, 2011
Sheridan resident Christina Anne (Garber) Murphy, 49, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital of complications related to liver disease.
Christy was born Nov. 7, 1962, in Sheridan to Deborah (Hosford)?and Richard Garber.
She grew up in Big Horn attending schools there and graduating from her beloved Big Horn High School in 1981.
She attended fashion merchandising school in California after high school and returned to Sheridan, where she first worked as an advertising sales consultant at The Sheridan Press and KWYO. She spent the majority of her
working life as an office manager/personal assistant.
While working at The Sheridan Press, Christy met Patrick Murphy. She and Patrick married on Aug. 4, 1990, in Sheridan and built their life here. They were blessed with one son, Schiller Patrick Murphy, born April 8, 1994. Known for her beautiful smile and welcoming and friendly nature, Christy loved to entertain and share good times with longtime and new friends. Christy was an impeccable dresser with her own unique sense of style. Joys in her life were "her boys" — husband Patrick and son Schiller — her family and her many, many fond friends. Christy took great pleasure in making her house a home — a place where visitors immediately felt welcome and at ease. Among her many talents was an uncanny eye for detail in home decor, and she took much pride in how her home looked both inside and out. She enjoyed her friends in the "wine club" and the trips that group took to California’s wine country. She treasured those trips and deeply loved and appreciated her friends in that special group Christy was plainspoken, very smart and insightful. She prided herself on using good manners and being respectful of others. The light and laughter she brought into the lives of those she loved will forever be missed. She was one of a kind.
Christy is survived by husband, Patrick, and son, Schiller, of Sheridan; her sister, Susie (Garber) and her husband, Juan Ponce; brother Bruce Garber; brother Rich Garber and his wife, Carol; her father, Richard Garber and his wife, Elaine Henry; her aunt Kathy Hosford, aunt Carol (Hosford) Vandeventer and her husband, Roy; aunt Pam (Hosford) David and her husband, Van — all of Big Horn; and uncle Dick Hosford and his wife Lori, Birney, Mont. She also has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, "Debbie."
