Graveside services for Carol Garland, 68 year old Buffalo woman who passed away Tuesday at the Westview Nursing Center in Sheridan, Wyoming will be held Monday, November 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Willow Grove Cemetery with Pastor William Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Donations may be made in Carol’s memory to the American Alzheimer’s Association in care of the Harness Funeral Home.

Carol was born in Buffalo to Al and Helen Burris. She grew up in Buffalo with her siblings Terry, Jim and Judy. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church and church school through elementary school. Carol attended high school at Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado, Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska and Loma Linda University in Los Angeles, California.

She returned to Buffalo to marry Roger Samuel Garland on April 4th 1965.
In February 1973 Carol and her family moved to Missoula, Montana. Carol was active with the Adventist Church in Missoula devoting many hours to teaching vegetarian cooking classes, assisting with the Pathfinder Club and serving the members in any way she was needed.

She worked for Community Hospital for nineteen years in various roles. She took great pride in her work and was always seen with a smile on her face and a helping hand. Carol and Roger returned to Wyoming in 2003 moving to Gillette. Carol lived at the Westview Nursing Center in Sheridan from 2008 until the time of her death.

Carol is survived by her husband Roger of Gillette; her three daughters: Cindy Jordan and her husband Jonathan of Mauldin, South Carolina, Rhonda Reid and her husband Jonathan of Gillette, Wyoming, Jennifer Cuplin of Missoula, Montana; her two sons: Scott and his wife Wynette of The Dalles, Oregon, and Casey of Gillette; her sister Terry Horner of Alabama, her brother Jim Burris and his wife Orvella of Sheridan. Carol has eight grandchildren: Whitney Burns-Hernandez and her husband Isaac of Hendersonville North Carolina, Brett Burns and his fiancé Krista Kruse Polson, Montana, Nathaniel Jordan of Mauldin, South Carolina, Sabrina Garland of The Dalles, Oregon, Spencer Cuplin of Missoula, Montana, Rebekah Reid, Jordan Reid and Barbara Reid of Gillette and two great-grandchildren: Isaac Alexander Hernandez of Hendersonville, North Carolina and JoAnn Garland-Funderberg of The Dalles, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her infant son Roger Dean, her parents and her sister Judy.
