Carl married Betty in 1947 in Pueblo, Colorado. Carl and Betty eventually moved to Billings, Montana, where Carl worked at local grocery store and went to Rocky Mountain College. He loved getting to know his customers and his employees in his special, unique ways. He truly cared about the people that he met throughout his time as a hometown grocer. He was so very thankful for all of the opportunities he was given.
Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a way of making sure that each one knew how special they were to him. He was proud to be known as “Pops”, “Dad”, “Gramps”, and “Grandpa”, to all of his kids. He enjoyed spending time working on his old car and driving it through many parades in Sheridan. He liked dressing up as a clown for community activities and loved making people smile.

He was a member of Sheridan Elk’s Lodge #520. He was a supporter of the local 4-H group in Sheridan, Wyoming, as well as numerous other community projects.
During their time with the Good Sam’s RV Club, Carl and Betty traveled throughout the United States attending Good Sam conventions and enjoying time with friends.
