Barbara Jane Martin was born on January 2, 1939 in Buffalo, Wyoming, the 3rd child of George and Rachel Rives. She grew up and attended schools in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo High School with the class of 1957. The Class of 1957 by the Statler Brothers was one of her favorite songs. After high school Bobbi worked at Alabam’s. She was married on July 7, 1964 in Buffalo to Clyde A. Martin and they made their home in Kaycee for a short time before moving back to Buffalo. Mr. Martin passed away in July of 1975 and Bobbi raised her daughters working hard as a single mother. She worked for the Johnson County School District and for Buffalo Meat with her brother Sonny. She worked at the Super 8 Motel for several years and later for the Johnson County Fairgrounds. In September of 2009 ill health required her to move to the Amie Holt Care Center where her spirited attitude will be long remembered by the care center staff, who loved her for it. Her family will be forever grateful for all the care and love that she received from Amie Holt and for the care that she received from Dr. Darnell, who never left her.
Bobbi loved music and while in high school she played drums in the band, without reading music. She was an accomplished bowler, earning many pins and trophies traveling to State and National Bowling Tournaments. As a family in her younger years they were always outdoors, camping, fishing, snowmobiling and motorcycle riding. Later she enjoyed fishing with good friend Byron and arrowhead hunting with her sister Snooks.
Bobbi is survived by two daughters, Terri Klasinski and her husband Paul Gilbert of Moorcroft, Wyoming and Tami Elmer and her fiancé Dan Wolf of Buffalo; one brother, George (Sonny) Rives and his wife Verna of Buffalo; three grandsons, Justin and Kevin Elmer and Charlie Klasinski. She is also survived by two nieces, Linda Falcon and Debby Vandel and three nephews, Phil and Mark Stuckert and Randy Rives and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister Viola “Snooks” Stuckert and her husband Bob Stuckert, and one special niece Connie Jo Stuckert.
