Alene D. Semingsen, 77, of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in Sheridan Manor.

Mrs. Semingsen was born November 15, 1933 in Great Falls, Montana to Amil and Jessie (Sorensen) Herseim. She grew up in Great Falls and attended Franklin Grade School, graduated from Great Falls High School, and attended the College of Great Falls for two years.

Alene married Ray Semingsen April 29, 1950 in Great Falls. She was a bookkeeper working in the office of the College of Great Falls, and upon the couple moving to Sheridan, Wyoming, became the bookkeeper for Big Horn Reservoir.

Alene was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan, a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, the Quilter’s at the church, and a member of the church choir.

She enjoyed walking, hiking, back-packing, round dancing and square dancing, and her house plants. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Alene was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Amil and Alvin Herseim.

She is survived by her husband, Ray, of Sheridan, Wyoming; one son, Lynn Semingsen, (Arlys), of Gillette, Wyoming; one daughter, Marley Miller, of Sheridan, Wyoming; two brothers, Earl Herseim, (Vonne), of Great Falls, Montana, and Rex Herseim, of Spokane, Washington; one sister, Diana Griffin, (Mike), of Fargo, North Dakota; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Alene will be 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. Friday, March 4, 2011 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Mrs. Semingsen will be 10:00 A. M. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. P. J. Cain officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Big Horn, Wyoming. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
