John Dregoiw, 90 of Sheridan died Wed. May 13 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday May 18 at Champion-Ferries Funeral Home. Internment will be private immediately following with a reception at the Elks Club.
John was born Aug 12,1918, of Romanian parents, in Sheridan and has lived all of his life here. He owned and operated the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. until 1968 when he sold it. He then went to work at the First Interstate Bank (then the Bank of Commerce) as Vice President of the Real Estate Dept. until he retired. Coming out of retirement he worked for Rocky Mountain Federal for 4 years as a mortgage loan originator. In 1980 he obtained his Real Estate broker’s license and worked at Carroll Realty.
He became quite active with the Elks and ran the Bingo up until his death. In 2008-2009 he was awarded a special recognition by the Elks for his role in the bingo operations. He was a member of the Shrine, an avid golfer and belonged to the Country club for many years. He won 4 Wyoming State golf championships and 6 other golf tournaments. He was also on the school board for 4 consecutive terms.
He is survived by daughters Linda Dregoiw Johnson and Judy Dregoiw and son Mickey Dregoiw, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife “Margie”, parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
