H1N1 Vaccine Recommended Across Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - State Health Officer Dr. Brent Sherard says vaccine for the H1N1 swine flu is now plentiful across Wyoming. The Wyoming Department of Health is recommending vaccine shots for nearly all Wyoming residents who haven't had one yet. Sherard says flu activity is quiet in the state right now but could flare up again.
Flu vaccines take about 10 days to offer effective protection. For that reason, health officials suggest not waiting until co-workers, classmates, friends and family have the flu before getting a shot.
Two doses of vaccine are recommended for children under 10.Sherard says flu vaccines have a record of being safe and the H1N1 vaccine is no different.
