Care giving isn't easy and at best, is quite demanding. The balance between work and care giving while juggling careers, kids, family, finances, plus marriage is delicate, putting the caregiver at risk.
Stella Montano is the Director of the Family Caregiver Services at the Senior Center in Sheridan. She brings this strong word of advice.
The caregiver is at risk of suffering poor physical as well as poor emotional health. In fact, mental health problems among caregivers is 20% higher than non-caregivers. The Senior Center offers a variety of services to help.
The Family Caregiver Support Group Meetings are every Monday morning at 10 and 5:30, Monday evenings at the Senior Center.
