The Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library now has eBooks that can be read on a variety of devices, and an even wider collection is on its way.
Offered on all android devices and on PC and Mac products as well, library director Cameron Duff says the new service has been popular. He explains what they will soon be able to offer, hopefully in April or May.
The 3M contract will still have some limitations as to what eReaders can be used, most of which because of Amazon. For example the Kindle will still not work as Amazon does not allow for it under the 3M agreement. The Kindle Fire is the only Amazon product that will work because it allows third party apps.
Checkout period for eBooks is two weeks, the same as a regular book, and books can be renewed. Just like checking out a book from the library, you need a library card but instead can do it all from a home computer if you so choose.
