Dust suppression was addressed a couple of different ways at Tuesday's Sheridan County Commissioners meeting. Commissioners authorized staff to submit a grant application for Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement funds through WYDOT. Sheridan County is requesting $394,287 in grant funds and will provide $98,571 in matching funds from the capital facilities tax. The request for funding would be for next years dust suppression of Sheridan County roads.
Commissioners also awarded a bid to Desert Mountain Corporation in the amount of $407,082 for dust abatement on county roads this year. County Commissioner Terry Cram.
Commissioners approved to submit a grant application to the Peter Kiewit Foundation for support of the Free Clinic project. The County is requesting $125,000 in grant funds to help offset construction costs of the project if it moves forward. The proposed project would consist of renovating the Sheridan County Public Health building to accommodate the Free Clinic moving into the facility.
