Sheridan Media reporter Pat Blair looks back in time, over 100 years ago, to the impact of Spanish influenza as reported in the pages of the Sheridan Enterprise in 1918.

Members of the American Public Health association warned today, Dec. 4, that another influenza epidemic is expected to sweep the country in 1919. Health authorities from all parts of the United States, Canada and South America will consider plans for combatting the epidemic at the American Public Health association convention this month.

Authorities have stated that Wyoming’s legislature can meet in Cheyenne, as per law, this coming year, and immediately adjourn until the influenza epidemic is improved. The legislature must meet on Jan. 14, but under the law, it need not stay in session.
