Sheridan County Museum has undergone a rebranding of their name and image to The Museum at the Bighorns as the history museum reopens to visitors May 26.

The re-branding was a large undertaking according to museum board treasurer Edre Maier. The museum has changed merchandise, materials and signage to account for the new branding.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, museum executive director Mikayla Larrow told listeners that the reason for the change reflects items and exhibits on display encompassing more than just Sheridan County history.

Maier asks visitors for patience as the highway signs are replaced to reflect the new name.

The Museum at the Bighorns is now open to visitors Tuesday through Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Facebook at museumatthebighornnow.
