Johnson County COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center liaison Dr. Dozier Tabb, filling in for County Health Officer Dr. Schueler during the latest briefing Friday, discussed the current corona virus situation in the county.

He said there is a lot of information coming out of Cheyenne and wanted to touch on some bullet points during his portion of the briefing.

First, he said although restrictions were beginning to be lifted by the state and county, it must be done to avoid going backwards with increased positive virus cases.

The guide for ongoing improvements and lessening of restrictions will be handled through the COVID-19 Dashboard on the State Department of Health website.

The hope is for the information to be available there soon, he said.

Also, instructions for businesses to get themselves back up and operational will be provided by webinars available through the Wyoming Business Council, and he said they will be a valuable resource for business owners.

One topic was brought up recently about holding classes such as yoga classes outside, and State Health Officer Dr. Harrist had nothing negative to say about it, so it appears it may be safer as long as appropriate social distancing is observed.

He reported there had been no new positive tests in Johnson County since April 9th.

Finally, Dr. Tabb discussed the school exemption that began today that will allow roughly 20-some students at Buffalo and Kaycee High Schools to get person-to-person help to meet graduation requirements.
